Razorist’s Top 10 Razors

With the number of razors out there, reading through review after review can be overwhelming to try to find the perfect one for your shave. That’s why we’ve rounded up our list of the Top 10 Razors that we’ve tested to give you a better idea of where to start your search.

Best Overall

Gillette Fusion5 ProShield Power

Gillette Fusion5 ProGlide Shield Power. The name is a mouthful, but so is what this razor can do. If you don’t like a lot of “bells and whistles” on your razor, you might not think this one’s for you. Don’t sell it short. While it has a lot of features — including a battery-powered vibration to make shaving easier — it gives a damn comfortable shave that’s worth the price in our opinion.

Best Simple Razor

Gillette Fusion5

Gillette is known for offering top-of-the-line razors, and the Fusion5 is another winner. The baseline for for the company’s five-blade lineup, the razor feels high-quality, offers an unbelievably smooth shave, and won’t break the bank.

If you’re looking for a great all-around razor that doesn’t have too many bells and whistles (while still offering a lot to like), then this is it.

Runner Up: Best Simple Razor

Schick Quattro Titanium

The Quattro Titanium from Schick may not be the company’s most advanced razor, but it is our favorite from the brand. The unique razor offers four blades, and a system of thin metal wires that go over those blades to provide what we thought was an extremely comfortable shave.

Most Stylish Razor

Harry's Truman

Affordable, stylish, and a good shave. What’s not to like about the Harry’s razor? With five blades and cartridge refills for $2 each, there’s a lot of value in the razor. It cuts well, and looks even better sitting in the shower or by your sink.

Best Value Razor

Dollar Shave Club Executive

The Dollar Shave Club Executive is a great razor without a high price tag. You can get the razor directly from DollarShaveClub.com. This model runs $10 for a handle and four blades, or about $2.50 per cartridge.

Runner Up: Best Value Razor

ShaveMOB Caveman

Never heard of ShaveMOB? We hadn’t either until we found the “Caveman” razor on Amazon. Turns out the razor we tried gave a fantastic shave for not a lot of money. In fact, the razors are identical to those used by another famous razor company. Bottom line, if you’re looking for a great shave and a deal, ShaveMOB’s Caveman fits the bill.

Honorable Mention: Best Value Razor

Dorco Pace 6 Pro

The big appeal for the Dorco Pace 6 Pro is undoubtedly the price. You can buy 10 razors and a handle for just about $20, making it one of the best deals in shaving. But it’s not just the price that’s nice, it offers a decent shave with a six-bladed razor that’s among the most affordable you’ll find.

Best 3-Blade Razor

Gillette Mach3

The classic that started it all, the Mach3 has since been passed up by other razors with new features. That said, it still does the job and offers an affordable piece. If you’re new to refillable razors, it is a great starter razor. If you’re an experienced shaver, you might want something a little more modern.

  1. I shave in the shower by “feel”…no mirror needed. First I shave with the grain, then I shave with more gel (Edge-Silver Cap.) I use a Scheck Hydro 5 “sensitive.”
In my opinion, nothing compared to this combination using Edge Ultra Sensitive.

To Clean, I use my water-pick, it blasts every nook and cranny clean.
